The 22 Bahman Teaching and Medical Hospital was established in 1379 by the charitable organization of Mr. Abdolhossein Bahman with charitable goals and to help the people of the region in meeting their health care and medical education needs. In the early years of its establishment, the hospital had limited internal departments – surgery, emergency, maternity ward and operating room.Given that the region has a dense population with a low economic status, and a large number of Afghan refugees reside there, and they also have a lower social level, which required the existence of acceptable and advanced medical facilities and services. Therefore, thanks to the efforts of the Islamic Azad University of Mashhad Branch and the committed staff of the hospital and the esteemed charity organization, specialized and super-specialized departments were added to it during several development phases. Currently, it has 175 approved beds and 140 operating beds, and it has a first-rate evaluation from the Ministry of Health.Inpatient departments include gynecological surgery and internal medicine, pediatrics, male surgery and internal medicine, psychiatry, adult ICU, CCU, NICU, central operating rooms, emergency room, maternity ward, dialysis, and hematology.

Within the framework of the macro policies of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and Islamic Azad University, 22 Bahman Specialized and Superspecialized Hospital has the mission of effective leadership in providing the most desirable comprehensive health services while adhering to the principles of professional ethics, patient-centeredness, and safety culture. In this regard, it strives to rely on efficient, specialized and skilled human resources, and to benefit from advanced technologies in diagnosis, treatment, and training of committed graduates at the national and international levels.
